Microsoft Outlook has stopped working, and resets. When it comes back up the view is different.

My Outlook pops up with a message box, "Outlook has stopped working"  It then restarts outlook, but when it comes back up the view has changed.  If I try to use it again it sometimes will work for a minute or two, then does the same thing.  I'm running Windows 7 and Outlook 2010.

Try the following:

1. First and easiest, go to Control Panel, Programs and Features, click on Office and run a FULL repair. Close out, restart and test.

2. Second, if the above does not work, uninstall Office completely, restart, install it again and update (lots of Office 2010 updates). Restart and test.

3. If the above does not work, make sure the PST file is backed up, delete the Outlook Profile (Control Panel), restart Outlook and make a new Outlook Profile. Test with the new Outlook Profile.

4. If the above does not work, make a new Windows User Profile (Account). Log into the new account, set up Outlook and test. Does it work in a new profile?  The windows profile could be damaged.
