is there a way for to have an email generated when a specific conf room is booked?

hello, we have a requirement for an email to be sent to help@ourdomain.com anytime a particular set of conference rooms is booked. can someone provide a way to do this?

Configure the room with a delegate, making the address you have listed a delegate.
You haven't said which version of Exchange you are using, so specific instructions aren't possible.

the goal is to allow the room to autobook but have an email sent to our help system which will autogenerate a ticket.  thx

You should be able to do this via Transport Rule in Exchange. See screenshots below..

this is just my lab environment you can use a distribution list for the reply email or additional conditions and/or exceptions to tweak this to your needs, but it can be done.
