Degrade VS 2012 SSRS report to VS 2008

I have been asked to degrade an SSRS report written in VS 2012 to VS 2008 because of incompatibility issues with SharePoint.  Has anyone done this?  Is it even possible?  I have not been able to find anything about it, so I'm wondering if it is a lost cause and the reports have to be rewritten.

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

To the best of my knowledge, downgrades of SSRS reports are not supported due to the differences in the XML schema of the RDL files.
