Which is the SMB solution for MySQL Backup and Monitoring

Hi,
I am looking for a unified solution for MySQL backup and server monitoring.

Currently we are using MySQL 5.6 community edition but we have two major issues: Backup/Restore is slow and Monitoring of replication (1 Master / 3 slaves) is difficult.

a) How is Percona MySQL compared to MySQL 5.6 community edition in terms of performance and stability as both are free? Is there any difference between MySSQL Community vs Standard Edition other than support?

b) Which is recommended for monitoring / alerts and backups: MonYog, MySQL Enterprise Monitor, KontrolSoft(Free) especially to manage replication?

Thanks,
Zen

a) more or less 1:1. mariadb is somewhat distinct as they guarantee data integriti un disk, at price of 1% of performance, and then they optimize some and in some parts it is slightly faster.

b) Lets consider SMB with capital S. One will use same tools as single server - namely MySQL tuning scripts that say how to scale mysql to your load.
Replication can send mails when it fails.

ASKER

I think we have to choose between
a) MySQL Community 5.6 vs Percona 5.6
b) MonYog vs Percona Toolkit vs MySQL Enterprise manager

since MySQL tuning scripts are too much a learning curve for our non-techie managers :)

I asked mods to help.
Michael Rojek ,

usually NetCrunch 8  seems a general high level monitoring tools, is not good for DB or in deep monitoring for DB, am I right ?
