What is a good NAS or storage server that will support file sharing of windows & mac

Hi Experts,

Does anyone have hands-on experience on a good NAS or Windows Storage server?

What we have are as follows:

6 Mac users, running 10.8(1x), 10.9(4x) and 10.10(1x)
6 Windows users, running Windows 7 Pro

mac users sharing 7TB from 2 usb external hard drives

Windows users are sharing using peer to peer, one user being the host.

2x networking printers

Looked at Western Digital Sentinel DX4200,  Synology DS1513+ ,  QNAP TS-469

Read the reviews and hope the experts here give some recommendations base on life experience.

Thanks in advance

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

We just deployed a QNAP TS-EC1279U-RP With 12x 4Tb drives in RAID10 and I have to say "I am impressed with the performance and functionality of the devise i also communicated with support as I had a couple of questions about the RAID build time and IOPS which the QNAP support team responded quickly and professionally"

I can unfortunately not give you any advise on the other devices.
