Printing Remotely

Hello everyone!

I just purchased a Canon IX6800.  It has the capability to print wirelessly. The instructions are a bit confusing to me but I managed to get it to print wirelessly via one of my laptops. With this configuration it works just fine.

However, I have a question…

Is it possible to print to this printer remotely?  In other words, let’s say I am at the local Starbucks. Can I print to this printer remotely? And if so how do I do that?

I have a few other questions but I’ll wait until my initial question is answered.

Thank you all in advance for your comments.

Peace and Blessings…

Yes and no.

Unless you have a VPN connection to the site where the printer is located, you can't print directly from that laptop if it's not there on the network.

You could remote into another computer that *is* on the network and print from it.

The issue is: "How do you get connected to the network much less the printer?"
If the printer is wirelessly connected to the network then it will be accessible on the network.  That's how you did it when you were there.  But if you're not on that network right now then I don't see how unless, as above, you get connected to that network or get connected to another computer that's on that network using GoToAssist or some other remote access capability.
