I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

I cant break my 2010 installation, as I use it for production work.  Once 2013 community is installed, is it robust enough to be used as a replacement for  2010 professional?

Hi HLRosenberger;

As @it_saige stated yes, but please see the following.

Please see this Microsoft web page, Visual Studio Community 2013, There are some limitations such as the following statement.

For all other usage scenarios: In non-enterprise organizations, up to 5 users can use Visual Studio Community. In enterprise organizations (meaning those with >250 PCs or > $1 Million US Dollars in annual revenue), no use is permitted beyond the open source, academic research, and classroom learning environment scenarios described above.
