Keep awake keep alive

I have a website it is a music site. the site generates a playlist based on selection and start to play music. after about 3 songs the screen on the mobile device goes dark then not short after the player stops working. I assume its based of the sleep/screen time of the phone. Is there a way to keep the player playing on the background even when the screen as dim....This is a webstie only not an app
