Hi,

Configured two VM, One windows and other Linux, Assigned IP; Able to ping the IP from inside but not from outside VM, Tried reinstalling the NIC card, But no luck.

Both server are standalone and are inside same VLAN, No exclusion is defined on that. While IFconfig in linux server; Netmask as coming as 255.255.0.0. But I set it as 255.255.255.0.

Kindly assist.

That looks like you used default NAT networking for your guests. Change to Bridged networking and try again. Bridged networking will probably work.

With the VM shut down, go to the machine settings which are available in the VM window. Go to network and select Bridged mode in the settings windows to the right of the settings list.

I enabled the Inbound rule for ICMPv4 and it worked.
