compare two windows registry keys in chef

I'm trying to compare two windows registry keys.  I have the code working in Ruby but when I run chef I get errors.  Is there a way to compare to registry keys and if they don't match perform an action?

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

This could be put in a recipe with conditional logic.
This returns nothing if the files are the same:
knife diff file1 file2

Here is a rough draft:

execute 'certain_action' do
	command knife diff #{file}
		--file /pathTo/secondFileName
no if  <return nothing>

Open in new window
