It may be a extension as well, I would disable them all and then reset browser settings to default.

I have run Malwarebytes, SuperAntiSpyware, Spybot Serach an Destroy, CWShredder, Bitdefender, Hijackthis removes it but it pops right back, have cleared explorer an reset to defaults an it pops right back,

This is a new install of Win7 on a new computer.

I have not tried Combofix as it is more of a last resort tool isn't it? Of course I may be up to my last resort by now??

The problem is often due to a BHO residing in the PC.

This reference says there are several variations of the about:blank hijacker and gives suggestions for removing them--mostly through modifications to the Registry.

Make sure you are using the latest version of the various anti-malware tools mentioned.
Is it slowing down your computer? In Task Manager, do you see suspect processes, e.g. with gibberish names?

ComboFix has taken it out for now. I will see if it stays out, or if there are any adverse reactions to ComboFix. Thank You.
Glad it worked for you, arkmat...
I have used combofix, for that in the past, however due to paranoia i remove the hard and attached it to another computer, then scanned it without it booting up so that I can make sure everything is gone.

Thank You Natty, will keep that in mind. Probably not a bad practise.

Per the OP... "ComboFix has taken it out for now. I will see if it stays out, or if there are any adverse reactions to ComboFix"

I believe this means my suggested solution worked.
