Office 365 Portal to ADFS login redirect

We have a corporate AD domain environment with Office 365 authenticating using ADFS.

When users go to to portal and type in the email address in the email address field, e.g., they get re-directed to our page and prompted to enter both, their username (email) and password.

My question:
The users are complaining about having to enter the username (email address) twice (once in the MS portal and once in the ADFS prompt). Is there anything that can be done to either auto-complete the email address part or otherwise not force the users to type in the email address twice?

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

At the portal site, all they really need to type is ("X" can be anything).  It picks up the domain portion and then redirects to the ADFS.

For users inside your network, you can set it up so Windows Integrated authentication is automatically used, but for users accessing from the internet I'm fairly sure there's no shortcut here.  For internal users using IE, add the URL for the ADFS server to your "Local intranet" zone under Internet Options > Security.
