asked on Cannot install SP2 for windows Server 2008 x64 and cannot modify Roles/Features
When trying to install the update to SP2 i get an error that I need to install SP1 even though it is installed. Also, I cannot see or modify any of the server roles.

Just to ensure, you are running 2008 and *not* 2008 R2, correct? There is no SP2 for 2008 R2, and attempting to install it will cause the error you describe. As far as the roles, what *specifically* are you trying to do? What steps are you taking? What errors (if any) are you seeing?
