mobile app development, html5, webviews

Hi Experts,
Can anyone point me to the best solution that would allow me to create a webview so that I could write native apps using HTML 5 - that needs to communicate back to the device?  Are protocol schemes the best way to go for this?  I know that protocol schemes are to call out of the app to the device - does one use JNDI to call back in?  Any other mechanisms?

Many thanks,

If I understand what you are talking about you might want to look here.  Not a true native app, but allows you to build once and deploy to both android and iOS. It is essentially an html5/JavaScript solution.
Apache Cordova (Adobe PhoneGap) is my preferred solution. It has a plugin architecture to access native device functions. I have already developed an Android application using Cordova accessing BLE devices via my own Android code... NetBeans IDE supports Cordova project. To develop on PC, you could also use Ripple emulator with Google Chrome.
