How do I disable Dead Peer Detection on an ASR Tunnel

Hello, I have a tunnel that keeps going down from an ASR1006 to a Mcafee firewall. It appears to be the DPD that is causing the problem.

Question is how do I disable DPD for just this tunnel?

Hello,

Regarding DPD configuration guide IPsec Dead Peer Detection Periodic Message Option, you should do:
(config)#  no crypto isakmp keepalive

Regarding link I posted above, you cannot configure DPD on single tunnel. It is global setting for all tunnels. Also there is no way to disable DPD at all. You can just choose between two modes:
- Dead Peer Detection PeriodicMessage Option, which basically turns DPD into keepalives at regular interval
- DPD on-demand, default behaviour, sends DPD message when it doesn't see traffic for some time.

As a  workaround you could use continuous ping from one location to the other, so there will always be some traffic between peers.

Hope it helps!
