Mailbox Database Exchange 2010

We were having disk space problems so I configured a synology disk station as an iSCSI device and created a volume in windows.
To this new volume I moved a couple of large mailboxes, the disk station shows the right amount of disk space used but the original Exchange database hasn't changed size, does it take time or do I need to do something else.

no errors were reported on the move and those mailboxes work fine.

Many thanks

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

It just takes time, because the mailbox database utilities have to run to compress the database size (i.e., remove the white space left by moving the mailboxes).
