E-mails bouncing using outlook 2013

Hi,

One of our user is trying to send e-mails from another user's mailbox(I think using the shared mailbox) and getting bounce backs with no indication of why it's being bouncing?
One of my colleague re-created the offline address book and still its not looking good.

We had an issue with the profile of the user who is trying to send the e-mails and we have re-created the profile.
Not sure how that will play a part in this scenario.

I suspect it down to the mailbox migration but not sure though.

We are also in the middle of doing the migration of exchange from 2010 to 2013.
So it could be down to many reasons, have anyone see the error message like the one we are getting down below?

Very generic error.
I would remove all of the permissions the user has from the Shared Mailbox, wait at least an hour and then put them back in again. That is for both Full Mailbox and Send As permissions.

I presume the user in question is not, and never has been a domain admin, or power user?

I understand your point about the users privileges,no he never been a power user or a domain admin.

Try to recreate the outlook profile on the local machine
Simplify Active Directory Administration

Administration of Active Directory does not have to be hard.  Too often what should be a simple task is made more difficult than it needs to be.The solution?  Hyena from SystemTools Software.  With ease-of-use as well as powerful importing and bulk updating capabilities.

He hasn't got any issues sending from his own account when using someone else's mailbox to send the e-mail,the problem occurs. So it is down to something of the shared mailbox or send as permissions either after the migration or the ACLs, I think.

If the error is generic then its too hard to diagnose it?

la
Simon Butler (Sembee)ConsultantCommented:
That is why I said to recreate the permissions for that user on the shared mailbox.
There is nothing in the error message to diagnose. If you put in 0x80070005 in to Google, you will see how generic it is. It usually means Access Denied, or something like that.

Try having the user use Outlook using Online mode and send from this mailbox. If it works then your local OST file is not picking up the permissions properly. Online mode will ensure that the permissions are set accodingly.

If it works in online mode then re-create the Outlook profile as stated.

I am sorry.
I didn't get that about re-creating the permissions for the user on shared mailbox, how do I do that?

I have removed the send as permission for the user in the ecp and re-created it.
Do I have to check any other ACL's?

Thanks

I got more on it now.
What the user wants is instead of sending behalf of, he needs some messages to send as behalf  and some messages as the other user.

any help,

thanks

You cannot have both.
It is either Send As or Send on Behalf of.

Simon.
la-tempestadAuthor Commented:
Simon,

I have checked it and found out that,I can have both on exchange server 2013.
The problem was due to not set up the "Send As" option for the user.

Now everything working fine.

thanks for all your inputs.

You can enable both, but you cannot use both.
There is no way to control which one is used. Therefore you need to decide - one or the other.

Simon Butler (Sembee)ConsultantCommented:
That isn't possible.
You cannot choose between Send as and Send on Behalf of. There is no mechanism to choose.

I have enabled both "send as" and "send on behalf" of and both working fine.
