SQL 2008 R2 and SQL 2012 on the Same Machine
Hello:
I'm a software consultant who has SQL 2008 R2 on his laptop. I want to have a separate installation of SQL 2012 on the same laptop.
I know that this is possible, from what I have read. But, when I conduct the installation of SQL 2012 on this laptop, is there something that I need to do, in order to prevent 2012 from "interfering with" 2008 R2? Is there a way of preventing 2012 from installing into the same directory as 2008 R2, so that 2008 R2 continues to freely function?
I, simply, don't want to install 2012 and thereby break 2008 R2.
Thanks!
