don't want my gmail history to show everything

Someone I know with a Gmail account uses it both at home and at work. When he uses it at work he just want his Gmail history to show what he accessed on Gmail on his work computer. He does not want it to include his Gmail history from other computers that he used it on. Is this possible?

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

My web mail is the same on any computer (including iPhone) that I use. I expect the same is true for Gmail (which is, after all, just web mail).

If the person does not want to leave tracks, they should not use Gmail on a work computer. You can go to IE Properties and not leave history behind but that affects all web browsing. Also, you never know what an administrator might be able to uncover.

If he wants a separate history for work then he needs a second gmail account for work.
Is it his gmail history he's worried about or his browsing history while he's logged in to his gmail account?
If it is his browsing history, you could set up a separate work account and he could still access his private email by either forwarding it to his work account or use an Incognito window in Chrome to access his private email. That won't leave him logged in to his regular browser.

In addition, for legal reasons, Gmail itself will not be deleting their copy of any history.
