Access Relationships

The attached db is pretty much the way I want it to be. My question is about the "tblDeals" table.

When you open this table and click on the " + " symbol to open the link the table seems to open on itself. I don't understand why this happens.

The link will open seven times on itself and then stops. I would like to understand why this happens.

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Get rid of ALL the table level lookups in ALL the tables.  They are what is causing the problem.

In particular, you have fldDEALName linked to itself.

Use lookups at the form level.  Only developers ever look at queries or at tables in data sheet view.  Users NEVER do.  Learn to make queries to join tables to lookups (usually you need to use left joins unless the FK to the lookup is required).  That will solve your problem as a developer.  It will also allow you to see the ACTUAL underlying value as well as the DISPLAY value which you can't do if you use table level lookups.

Go to the table properties in design view - at the bottom. You have subdatasheets specified as the same table. Remove all this (three properties).
