Wireless Password -- prevent viewing ?

What "Security Type" (WPA2/etc) is needed
to make the below password NOT viewable ?

  1. user clicks on WI-FI status
  2. clicks attached "Wireless Properties"
  3. checks attached "Show characters"
  4. gives VIEWABLE password to buddy/etc

Well what you are referring to has nothing to do with the wireless security type - it is a windows thing.  Take a look at this link and it provides a method for disabling that "feature" in windows. ;)

If this is related to a business network, a more secure alternative that would prevent revealing a password would be to use WPA2-enterprise authentication or a more secure form of authentication that uses a RADIUS server rather than a generic shared password.
I am pretty sure that only local admins can view it.
I agree with McKnife, only Admins can view the pre-shared key. As no one should be working with an Admin account anyway (even Admins), it shouldn't be an issue. Just don't give your users the password to their Admin accounts.
