I have Outlook 2013 running happily in 8 GB of memory - no errors.

Open Programs and Features in Control Panel and click on Office. Do a Repair and select FULL repair.

Then open Office Account, check for and do all updates.

Try these two things and let us know.

How many items in the folder. Outlook doesn't like a LOT of items in any of the key folders (Sent Items, Inbox etc). Sub folders are fine.
The other main reason for this is dodgy addins which are scanning the content.

Simon.
