VSS Stopping State

Our exchange 2010 box has its VSS service in a stopping state.
Ive found this: http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US&cmd=displayKC&externalId=1007696
but it just hangs with the copyright message, doesnt list them..

we are running be2014 which believe is interfering, but has been fine for a while (within its backup window)

initial event log warning id24:
Volume Shadow Copy Service Warning: The Volume Shadow Copy Service is shutting down and is experiencing delay while waiting for in-progress calls to complete.

then errors id11:
Volume Shadow Copy Service information: The COM Server with CLSID {e579ab5f-1cc4-44b4-bed9-de0991ff0623} and name IVssCoordinatorEx2 cannot be started. Most likely the CPU is under heavy load. [0x80080005, Server execution failed
]

and

id8193:
Volume Shadow Copy Service error: Unexpected error calling routine CoCreateInstance.  hr = 0x80080005, Server execution failed
.

Operation:

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.
