Hyper-V Historical Performance for hosts and well as guests?

Hello,

I am wondering if Hyper-V Manager has a way to view historical performance data of hosts and guests in a similar way to how VMware's vCenter does?

I know you can connect to servers and view them via performance monitor, but this is really just real time data.

What I would like to be able to gauge, is how much a server is being used over a month or week, so that I can determine if I can put more VMs on it.

Thanks

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Then you want system center. SCOM and SCVMM have good reporting features.

Must bt part of SCOM, because I don't see any historical performance as part of SCVMM. Normally it gets down to do you have enough RAM to add more VMs, and can your storage support more VMs in terms of IOPS, latency, and capacity.

Ok thanks a lot for pointing me in the right direction.  I will investigate SCOM.
