I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

You have to find the old news source first, capture the data and save it to a database so you can use that data for as long as you need.

I don't really know what to search for -- it would be a research project for me, too.  And it depends on the kind of news you want, etc.  Some of the major newspapers or news services (maybe BBC) might have archives.  You could ask them.
