Outlook 2007 images not showing

All of a sudden Outlook 2007 will not show images... ever.

If I set the prevent download setting I get the "right click to download image" message.  Doing this changes the text to a red X.

If I change the prevent download message then I, straight away, get the red X.

I have cleared IE temp files as well as moved the temp folder.

Outlook /safe does NOT show the images either.

Any thoughts?

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

So you did go to File > Options > Trust Center > Automatic Download > Uncheck Don't download pictures automatically

After that you might have to close outlook and re-open.

Otherwise Microsoft did release a patch fix for this which can be viewed and downloaded here:  Outlook Fails to Display Images

Yes... tried toggling that in fact.  Tried an Office repair as well.

Tried the registry fix to no avail.  The folder already existed.  I then changed it to another folder with no luck.  The images don't show... the folder remains empty.

Couple other things to try.  You could try signing that user in on another system so they get a fresh outlook profile on that pc and see if the issue remains the same.

Are you using exchange?

OWA have any trouble?

If so try flushing the cache:  Clean Outlook Cache
