make EE work on iPhone

http://support.experts-exchange.com/customer/portal/articles/660751-what-browsers-do-you-support-

EE on my phone is terrible.  What should take 30 seconds takes 10 minutes of cursing and pounding and swiping on the screen.

Pasting into an answer is near-impossible.  The first paste is OK.  Go to get more info, and it took five attempts to get the paste to work.

Creating hyperlinks with the link button is completely impossible because the popup dialog won't accept any paste.

iPhone 4 with iOS 7.1.2, using standard Safari.  No hacks.  Plain vanilla.

And...no points awarded to any answer with "buy a new phone".

I'm trying to help others, but EE's site becomes harder and harder to use.

Aargh!  I can't even browse for a question topic without the screen re-drawing and becoming unusable.

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Very interested in this subject. I can't find the monitor button so I will post this as watch quietly. Using a galaxy s4 android. I don't have all the problems you are describing but I do have trouble. The site used to be easy to use and improvements over the years have made it harder and harder.
Can you edit after posting? I can if I jump through a few hoops and depending on the length of the post. It ain't friendly.

It's definitely a reactively designed page. The layout changes according to the orientation of my device's screen.

Popover dialogs and automatic side scrolling when the "helpful" dialog pops out to the right during subject search or browsing when trying to finish asking a question.

It appears very much like it's never been dog-fooded by someone who is a contributor rather than a designer.

Although...to be honest...I don't know if EE has any staff or contractors  that contribute.

My contributions have dropped dramatically since the expert page design (mostly text) was disappeared.

I hate having to roll over to monthly payments because the site owners make it harder to participate quickly.

The mobile app is due out in April, pending approval by the app stores.  Version 1.0 will feature all the functions currently available to members for Q&A as well as viewing, voting and commenting on articles and videos.
Thibault St john Cholmondeley-ffeatherstonehaugh the 2ndCommented:
I'd be happy with a simple way to view ta's and find recent unanswered questions to help with. I have little interest in watching videos  on my phone as I have to pay for data. Likewise, reading articles on the move is not very useful.  Helping answer questions or receiving help is what is needed most on a mobile.
Gene RichardsonCommented:
Cool....I think you will find that with our mobile app.  You don't have to view videos and articles; it's there for those that do.  If you have a few saved searches that help you narrow your search down, that will be available too.  And, we have plans to further enhance the mobile app with more features after this initial release.
Thibault St john Cholmondeley-ffeatherstonehaugh the 2ndCommented:
The saved searches bit is what loses me. I have a couple and get notifs from them,  but there used to be a nice tree structure that I could drill down and look for questions and I can't do that any more. If I do go looking into another ta  I get offered articles and videos. Makes me feel that if I wanted to ask a question I wouldn't be able to and finding unanswered questions us just lost. So I just use the notifs from my two searches that someone helped me set up.
Imagine if you searched amazon for something and we're directed straight to the reviews, but couldn't find how to buy the thing unless you had previously written a script to help you search for it. Their sales would plummet.

BTW...one note is that the mobile app will only support IOS 8.0 and beyond.  I noticed that you may be on IOS 7.x.

Yes.  So....no poinks for you.  "Buy a new phone" is not acceptable.  ;)

Strange, I managed to accumulate 2 million points without IOS 8.0...  I must have been doing something wrong.

OK...you gave it your best effort to answer.  But, the solution is:  Stop using EE, or buy a new phone.

So, I bought a new phone.  EE isn't getting any better, but at least it's somewhat usable.

I miss text.  Anyone else remember making text-based skeleton sites using a text editor?
