Migrating SBS 2003 to 2012 Servers

I am getting ready to migrate a SBS 2003 server to a 2012 Server.  According to this:
 http://www.experts-exchange.com/Software/Server_Software/Active_Directory/Q_28452438.html

It looks like they where able to do it with out upgrading the SBS 2003 server to 2003 STD server.
Is this possible to do that way?
Most of what I have read you can not do that.

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

The Transition Pack for SBS 2003 hasn't been sold in years.  There is no way currently unless you find some old copy of the transition pack on ebay to "upgrade" SBS 2003 to 2003 Standard.

I don't know what you've read, but I would encourage you to hire a professional since this is clearly not your area of expertise... I'll help and I'm sure others will try to as well, but if you have problems, we are not there and most networks are important and can't be down for hours or days.  And we all volunteer here so when our free time runs out, we may not be here to help at the minute you want it most... you might have to wait hours or until the next day for a reply.  If your network is not important, than that's fine.  If it is, you want someone with experience of what to do when something doesn't work right to be there working directly on the hardware.

The SHORT of it:
SBS can easily have additional servers and DCs.  The restriction is that it cannot have ANOTHER SBS SERVER on the same network.  So treat this as you would any other 2003 to 2012 migration where you are (presumably) retiring Exchange.
