I can't remember my gmail address.
Each time I try to locate it I'm told to login with my alternate email address, but I need to know what my actual gmail address is.

I haven't run across anyone who forgot their email address, so my guess was that you have not used this account in a (long) while and have not emailed anyone from it in a (long) time.
