Sophos or Comodo antivirus will do just fine and they are free, Polaris office or quick office but if you have gmail you can use gmail docs they are quite good.

I prefer docs to go premium. You might also want to look at Polaris Office. For AV I highly recommend trustgo (trustgo.com). It had saved me too many times to count. BTW, you definitely need an AV solution on your phone. Not only are androids susceptible, but they ate being targeted more and more often.  The ransomware epidemic has come to the android market, so beware.

It depends on what you want to do.  For office suites I might add outlook for android, which is not bad.  My favorite email app for exchange accounts is TouchDown (now owned by Symantec).  Also what kind of device and what version of android?

If you go into the settings and choose about this phone/device what version of Android is it running 4.0/4.1/4.2/4.4.2/4.4.4/5.0?

So you know that android 4.4.2 and above restricts access to the SD cards? A couple of things.   Updating to 5.0 or switching to Android Runtime  (ART) which is almost the same thing,  will cause problems. Watch out for problems with Google+.  In terms of apps, there ate several worth looking at. Opera or opera mini are excellent browsers. X-plore is an excellent  file browser worth built in viewers.
