Where are the mac address to be found for a HP StoreVirtual 4000 SAN.

Hi Experts,

Does anyone know where the mac addresses can be found on a HP storevirtual 4000 SAN. Are they recorded on the device somewhere or are they in the paperwork somewhere because I can not seem to find them.

To my knowledge they're not on a label on the server and you'll get a very strange response from running IPCONFIG on a machine running LeftHand OS.

HP say you have to reboot and get it from RBSU - http://h20565.www2.hp.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?sp4ts.oid=3936136&docId=emr_na-c01852189

If you already have IP addresses you can ping them from another device and look in the ARP cache of course. Primary MAC address is also available under the CMC under feature registration if I remember correctly. Also you may have a bunch of "featurekey<MACaddr> files saved somewhere, that's advisable in case you need to reimage it.

There will usually be a label on the case near the NIC with the MAC address on it. I

You can also see the MAC address if you do IPCONFIG /ALL on the network card of the device.

John Hurst,

Thanks John for your quick response. I am out of the server room until Monday but will let you know how I get on then.
