I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Just run the installation again and only select the client-tools.

Your installed SQL Server or SQL Server Expresss? Cause some of the Express images doesn't contain SSMS. So in this case you need a different image. See Microsoft® SQL Server® 2014 Express .

This doesn't matter for SSMS. It can connect to any SQL Server version.

what about ssrs, ssas,and ssis
ste5anSenior DeveloperCommented:
Well, when the subject is SSMS, then I don't expect diffferent subtopics when going to quick-reading.

In this case simply rerun the installation ( SQL Server Installation Center ),

SSMS isn't SQL Server. SSMS is only a tool that comes with SQL Server. You need to chose it in Feature Selection screen. As well if you want to install SSAS, SSIS and SSRS.

This is what it installed but the management studio is still not in their.

Means that you didn't install it.
You can run again the setup to check what you've installed and then check only the option for Management Studio.

I am re installing it again. Can you tell me what i have to do next?

If you keep accepting defaults and going forward, you will continue to add new instances to your workstation.

- Select "Add features to an existing instance of SQL Server 2014".
- Select the MSSQLSERVER instance from the grid below
- Accept the license terms
- In the "Feature Selection" window, choose what features you want to install. That's a decision you need to make. You can post back with a screenshot to validate.

Down the road in the installation sequence, there will be a couple of configuration items where you will have to take the decisions that best suit your environment, corporate standards, appilcations to be executed, etc

It looks like this is the setup /installer for SQL Server Express. For adding features to  the "paid" editions, you will need their respective installers.
For SQL Server Express, you can download the Management Studio with Advanced Features from the Microsoft website.
mustish1Author Commented:
is it possible if you send me a direct link to download advance features, SSAS, SSIS and SSRS 2012 version?
