Windows Server 2012r2 Backup Solutions

We are installing 4VM's as VHDX to get round the 2TB limit. We will have 1 VM as exchange and 1 VM as SQL. I anticpate all the VM's will total 4-5 Gb. WSB has a 2TB limit is this correct? How would you go about backing this up?

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

In 2012 and newer (not coincidentally,, the only windows platforms that support vhdx), WSB no longer has a 2TB limit. Although with backus >4TB, you are still hitting the current size of physical portable disks for backup targets. For that much data, a 3rd party backup to tape is still worth considering.
