Sounds like a bug--what version of Visual Studio are you using?

Hi Bob,
I am using Visual Studio 2013 Ultimate version. :(
Bob LearnedCommented:
I have 2013 Ultimate Update 4.  What type of project are you recording tests for?

I opened web application from VS 2013.
so it gave me the web site like the following.
17.JPGI just select the values from dropdown list and click the button,
That's all I did.
and i think that my visual studio is also update 4 since when I opened 'About Microsoft Visual Studio' popup, it says Update 4 after Version info.

I have the same issue when recording a web page.

I am going to try this:

I tried running in safe mode, but it gave errors in my VS Test Explorer window.
I repaired VS 2013 and, CodedUI now works!

Repairing Visual Studio didn't help.  I was recording with Chrome browser, and it still didn't work.  When I switched to Internet Explorer, it would stop recording, and I could generate code.

What browser are you using?

Hi Bob,

Thanks for all your help.
I was using Chrome. Can we do anything about it?
Does MS know about this? I think that Coded UI should be used with mostly IE I guess?
Bob LearnedCommented:
If we know anything about Micro$oft, then we should answer that question as a definite "YES!!", that you should use Internet Explorer with Coded UI.

I have no idea about whether MIcro$oft knows about this, but there is always Connect.
IzzyTwinklyAuthor Commented:
It's very sad that Coded UI doesn't work well on other browsers.

I forgot to say thank you.
