"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Only issue is, after dropping "First"/ "Second" it alerts two times, and second time it gives Top :0
Can we resolve this

greetings  johny_bravo1, , you might do well to look through the code you have in the fiddle, and see what is going on there . . .
You have TWO DIFFERENT processes in operation, the first is in the -
     function DragSigner(){  }

the second is in the -
     function DragMe(){  }

if you look at the DragSigner (), it DOES NOT drag the Drag div, it makes a Clone -
     dragEl = ui.helper.clone();
and drags that clone, so the correct left and top come from -
        leftPosition  = ui.offset.left - $(this).offset().left;
        topPosition   = ui.offset.top - $(this).offset().top;

for the CLONE.

If you then drag a created clone the  DragSigner ()  is Not Used and the DragMe( ) gives the almost correct top and left in the -
      stopPosition
although the left seems to be 15 to high

If you add a variable to determine if this is an Outer Clone drag, or an Inner direct drag, as -
   var outerDrag = false;
then you can show Only ONE alert when you drag them.

if an outer Drag of clone the alert in the DragSigner () will show.

you need t have an IF test in  the DragMe( ) -

if (!outerDrag) {
   alert("top: "+stopPosition.top+", left: "+stopPosition.left);
   }
outerDrag = false;

this might give you the results you want.
