exchange 2010, exchange 2013
1) how do we configure SMTP gateway in organization. can u give some examples.
do we require mx records for outgoing mail, if yes then why?
2) in Exchange 2013, does CAS has RPC client access service as it just proxies connection to mailbox server. so if exchange 2013 CAS doesn't have RPC IN CAS , THEN AUTODISCOVER ON CAS 2013 is through HTTPS for virual directory which let client connect to exchange?

SMTP gateway - what device? IIS SMTP? Exchange SMTP ? or something like that?
How do you get inbound email? via a provider? Symantec cloud or mailguard.com.au for instance?
HOw your MX record setup today?
If you have inbound-email already via a provider, you don't really need MX record for out-going. Just next hop your email back to the provider will do.
2) the CAS server in Exchange 2013 are just merely a place holder. Unless there are a need, i recommend to put CAS server and MBX server together.
It save alot of hassle to work out where to go.
