z-index questions

I am trying to get three elements to stack properly on this page:

1. The player should be in the background.  (z-index: 1)
2. The blue stripe should be above the player (z-index:2)
3. The button should be above them (z-index:3).

Problem is: inheritance or z-indexes from bootstrap seem to be getting in the way.

Can anyone please explain to me the best way to stack these divs so they display correctly?

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Z-index only applies to elements with position of absolute, fixed, or relative.

Add a "position: relative" to the div of the blue band and anything is fine.
