VMware 5.0 - IPMI SEL alert


I have this alarm on the hosts of the cluster (see attached). Since the status of the System Event is disabled, I dont understand how can I have this alarm...

And since its disabled I cant clear it in the System event log option in the same tab.

Is there a way to clear this logs manually? Or maybe other way using the GUI..

Are you using the OEM version of VMware ESXi , eg. the vendors ESXi version from their website.

otherwise, restart the host, and reset the SEL logs! at the POST.BIOS

Are your esxi hosts fully patched? There was a known bug that would cause this alarm to be continuously raised. I ran into this with several of my client's environments. Patching them fixed the issue.
