The organization * will be removed from the windows Active directory

Hello All,

I have a windows Server 2003 Standard SP2 that is a Domain controller, DNS server and an exchange server as well. We no longer use exchange 2003 on the server. I'm looking to get some space back on the drivers and started to remove exchange 2003 from the server as per http://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/833396 .
All was going well until now when I was in the final step of the removal via the "Add or remove programs" and I just got this warning that says "The organization <my domain name> will be removed from the windows Active directory" (see image). I'm at a loss since NOWHERE did I read after all my research that this would screw up my domain!

I'm worried here becasue I have 30 client PCs on this domain and I don't understand why the domain would be removed from the AD. Am I missing something here and this is just the "exchange parts" of the domain being removed from the domain and everything will work as it did before except for the exchange parts?

My question is did I just royally screw myself here since there is no "Cancel" button to reverse this ? Should I click on the "OK" or is there a way I can revert the process to not screw up the domain? If I click ok will I have to recreate the domain again?

Thank you in advance for your help, it's MUCH APPRECIATED!!

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

you are removing exchange so the exchange org is being removed from AD, not AD itself

Hello Seth, thank you for the reply!
So the domain will be fine and only any exchange related items will be removed without affecting the domain itself?

Thank you.
