telnet issue

hi I have forgotten the ip address used to logon to my cisco 2950.

I have also rebooted the switch and pressed the mode button but due to not being able to access the switch I cannot gain access.

im currently using (putty) but keeps saying inactive/network error

question 1.  can anyone advise  ?

ive run 'ipscanner' and it only detects my single server and nothing else.

OK, I think it should also detect another devices in your lan - your own PC at least.
did you set the correct IP range to scan? e.g. - or - (depends on your LAN configuration)

after waiting a few mins and re-running the 'ipscanner' it showed my switches.
