ESXi 5.5 - should i enable vt-d?

Hi all,

I'm running ESXi 5.5 on a homelab.

- Lenovo T130
- Xeon 1225

I want to load a few VM's - maybe Server 2012 and a couple of Win 7 x64 machines and have a couple of questions:

1. Does anyone know how to inject the LAN drivers for this Lenovo
2. Should vt-d be enabled in general for ESXi?

Thanks in advance.

1. what LAN driver does it use ?

could you use a support nic, e.g. E1000 type

2. Yes

this seems to suggest that it's an Intel Onboard 82579LM LAN:

if you do not want to "hack" your installation, by experimenting, by injecting drivers - I would recommend the purchase of a network interface card which works out of the box

This nic always works with all ESXi 4.x, 5.x.
