Changing datasource in a report without having to verify it?

I want to change the datasource in som Crystal Reports report files. My problem is however that it wants to verify the databases directly. How can I avoid that? It would be easier for me to put it on the host where it is supposed to run and then crash there istead (in case of error).

The database has moved to another host.

Is it possible to use a different login than I will have in production?

What do you mean?

Crystal doesn't store the logon information like user and password so you can use any login to the database that has access to the tables you need.
