Lync status is not showing in Outlook 2013 - only shows status when we hover over the name in outlook.

I have a user that is using Lync 2013 and Outlook 2013. She is no longer seeing the status for users in Outlook. We can place the mouse over the name and see the status. But not when we add the user's name to the email or when we are in the email from the sender. We have closed Lync and Outlook and reopened but this didn't resolve the issue. What else could we try to get this feature to work again?
