Cheap Cisco switch to practice configuring

Hi Experts,

We use Cisco 3750 switches at work. I would like to buy one so I can practice configuring it at home, but even used on Ebay that are expensive. Is there a cheaper used Cisco switch I could buy on Ebay that uses the same configuration commands?

"As mentioned earlier, you must provide your own Cisco IOS and license for IOU to use with GNS3 due to licensing issues."

What does the above mean?

there are many free simulators/emulators out there that you can use for free.
Well, the IOSes are not free. You have to pay Cisco to use these.

netcmh,

Any idea how much?
Just as an idea and because we use this company for some of our stuff: http://www.cdw.com/shop/search/RESULTS.ASPX?key=Cisco+IOS&platform=all
Download and use GNS3, it does not get any cheaper than that.

nattygreg,

I have to purchase a Cisco IOS and license to use GNS3, or am I missing something?
As mentioned earlier, you must provide your own Cisco IOS and license for IOU to use with GNS3 due to licensing issues.

I used it a while back n I didn't have to maybe they have change the rules
I just check, I don't see it on their site
You mean the link above? Scroll down a bit to step 3.
Or do you mean something else?
They said if you download and activate the switches and router b4 June 9,2015 they will work cause thats last day they can give out free licenses

Unless I'm mistaken, I believe you read the article for the Solarwinds product. I tried looking for other articles with the date criteria and came up blank. As mentioned by me and other experts here, you need to buy your own Cisco IOS licenses.

So did you get a license?
Thanks for the grade. Good luck.
