Problem in Installing Dropbox on Windows 8.1.

I just purchase a Windows 8.1. note book. 500 Giga; I am the only one user and Administrator. I have a dropbox account. I want to replicate it on this machine. I went on my dropbox account. I downloaded dropbox and installed it. I can access the panel. End of the story. I cannot do anything else.

1. panel is frozen saying "connexion ..." and that dropbox is starting (for two days)
2. I can access the preference/options panel, but is also frozen.

I sent a mail to dropbox support to ask two days ago. But also frozen.
Hes someone an idea ?

I have had issues with DropBox and even Google drive apps in the past if Internet Explorers security settings were too high. Give that a shot first.

Have you tried uninstalling it then re-installing it? Also does it work when you access the dropbox folder your drive from file explorer instead of going through the panel?

Gabriel, I removed all the firewalls and made a rule i the active one when back (ESET) to permit Dropbox back and forth.
Takunda, I have installed and uninstalled it three times (however it went a little further the first time).  I do not recall if this was before or after I installed ESET.
The Dropbox directory had not been created. Qhen I cleck on the directory or on the site in the panel nothing happens; I created the dropbox file where it should have been, this has had no impact.

Microsoft's System File Checker utility often fixes such problems. it Repairs or replaces corrupt of missing system files.

The problem is not solved. I think there are cross difficulties from ESET, M$ and Dropbox. I am sorry for the delay: I got sick. Not of the problem but of a simple flu. My 100 MB mailbox went overloaded.
I will post the solution if I find it.
