Current event view with overlay calendars in SharePoint 2010

I am using the overlay calendars feature in 2010 and everything looks good in calendar view on the master calendar from all linked calendars. But NOTHING would show up in All Events view or Current Events view on the master calendar. Looks like overlay calendars would work with calendar view only. Is that correct? Is there any workaround?  

I am not even able to export all events (from all linked calendars that show in calendar view) on the master calendar to the excel.

I need to find a way to resolve this issue somehow. Any help would greatly appreciated.

According to this that's normal.


Calendar overlays work per view - so if you create a view and apply overlays to it, those same overlays don't apply to other views.
