Excel lookup (using Outlook config) to resolve name to internal email address

I have a column in which I am entering names of people, one per cell. Is there a way to have the cell resolve the name to an emaill address where the result is the user name as it appears in the GAL?

Thank you!

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Try this to get information from GAL.
Press Alt+F8, and run GetGAL.
Then you can use a vlookup to get the e-mail address.

Hi Ejgil,

this error was thrown: ActiveX component can't create object or return reference to this object (Error 429)

at this line: Set objSession = CreateObject("MAPI.Session")

I use Outlook and am not sure why the MAPI class isn't registered
Ejgil HedegaardCommented:
Could be related to the Microsoft December 2014 update, disconnecting ActiveX controls.
I haven't tried it, but some refer to this MS Fix it, so try that.
