What is the best Java based CMS for web development?

Hi,

I have seen couple of CMS like Wordpress, Drupal etc for web development. However these are mostly PHP based. I am planning to write some high performing (calculation wise) components in Java and C++ and would like to use j2ee also. Do anybody know what are the best options available as CMS for web development with Java platform and free to download like wordpress etc. and is compatible with MySQL database?? Thank you.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Have a look at http://www.opencms.org/en/
It's rather over-engineered in some respects but would provide the kind of basis you're looking for

I've not used it personally, but I've been hearing good things about it.  It's Java and Open Source.

Checking OpenCMS. Why do you say it is over-engineered? In what sense?

It's not perhaps not likely to impact upon you too much but content is essentially 'strongly typed' using schemas and xml, which seems overkill since most content is just text, not POJOs, beans or something.

If you're looking for something that has the functionality of a Joomla or a Wordpress, but happens to be written in Java, then you're going to struggle to find it afaics. I hope it's possible some day.

Difficult to know exactly what to advise though, as i'm sort of guessing what you need (especially in terms of base functionality)

I am not looking for wordpress kind of things and thats why this search for java based CMS. "Strongly typed" works for me as I am going to wrote lots of mathematical stuff in java based components. I am developing a website which closely resembles any stock exchange website.
