Try double-clicking the black line. Does it disappear?<br />
Also, can you confirm that it's not a footer like the ViewMaster or one of those that put lines on every page. If you have any footers just delete them and see if that helps.

Could be a bottom page border - changeable via the Page Background group on the Page Layout tab.<br />
