SSIS Reading large text file

I have a 3 million records written to a text file using ssis. I'm unable to open it in NotePad++  It abruptly closes saying too large to open. How can I view it to make sure its in right format. I tested with few records and could open . But I want to open with 3 million records.

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Dowload a trial of UltraEdit, as it should be able to handle viewing files with three million rows.

Ultimately though to make sure it's formatted correctly, i.e. headers line up with detail rows, you'll have to create an SSIS package with a flat file connection, formatted correctly (I normally just copy the first 4-5 rows, paste in a separate file, then import in SSIS to save me the time hard-configuring the file properties).   Then export to SQL or some other database, then view the data in there.

Good luck.
